Fuel Fossils

This is a large-scale installation consisting of over 200 plaster castings made from non-recyclable, nondegradable plastic packaging.

The premise is that it is far, far in the future and no one knows what plastic is anymore because humankind came up with a better substitute.

However, archaeologists keep digging up these plastic forms. So in order to figure out what they are, they take these plastic forms (a.k.a. Fuel Fossils because plastic is made from fossil fuels), and make castings of them just like castings of fossils from real archaeological sites.
